Current Projects:

1. CSIM / CICE comparison

• currently testing CICE 3.1 ridging vs CSIM 5.0.4 within coupled CCSM
• able to get CICE 3.1 and CSIM version 5 to agree to within roundoff by using the CSIM ridging
• while using the CICE 3.1 ridging scheme changed answers within the coupled model, it did not appear to be climate changing

2. CICE 4.0 incorporation into CCSM

• CICE version 4.0 currently runs within the coupled model
• assessing the differences with the earlier coupled runs using CSIM5/CICE 3.1

ATM-ICE-SOM Experiments

3. Melt pond parameterization

• tested under active atm/ice CCSM (ccsm3_0_beta08)
• moving to development code branch using new data ocean SOM

4. CICE into standalone CAM

• initially use CAM SOM
• move to DOCN SOM when available

5. GLIMMER
